Our Houseman are skilled in a wide range of housekeeping functions with responsibility for maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of the whole hotel. They are empowered to move about their space and do what needs to be done. Whether delivering guest requests, stocking carts, cleaning rooms and public spaces, or other similar responsibilities, the Houseman makes sure the spaces in the hotel help create a great guest experience.
No matter what position you are in, there are a few things that are critical to success – ensuring a safe work place, following company policies and procedures, maintaining confidentiality, upholding quality standards, and ensuring your uniform, personal appearance, and communications are professional. Houseman will be on their feet and moving around (stand, sit, or walk for an extended time) and taking a hands-on approach to work (move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 kilograms without assistance). Doing all these things well (and other reasonable job duties as requested) is critical for Houseman– to get it right for our guests and our business each and every time.
Core Responsibilities
- Room & Area Cleaning: Vacuuming carpets, mopping/waxing floors, cleaning bathrooms (toilets, showers, sinks), dusting furniture, polishing fixtures, and cleaning windows/mirrors in guest rooms, hallways, lobbies, and public restrooms.Linen & Supplies Management: Collecting soiled linen, stocking linen closets, restocking guest room supplies (toiletries, towels, coffee, mini-bar items).Furniture & Equipment: Moving furniture, turning mattresses, setting up rooms for events, and maintaining fitness center equipment.Waste Management: Emptying trash and recycling bins in all areas.Maintenance: Performing minor repairs like replacing light bulbs, addressing general upkeep issues, and keeping common areas tidy.Guest Service: Responding to guest requests professionally, ensuring all areas are neat and inviting, and assisting guests as needed.Support & Assistance: Helping housekeepers strip beds, carrying heavy items, and supporting other hotel operations.
Skills/Qualifications Required
- Physical ability to lift heavy items, stand/walk for long periods, and use cleaning equipment.Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety standards.Strong attention to detail, organizational, and teamwork skills.Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Honest, reliable, and professional attitude.Strong communication and customer service abilities. Multitasking abilities and strong organizational skills.Customer service experience.Physical stamina to participate in various tasksPositive attitude and team spirit.Problem-solving skills.
